Analytical model for multi-deep shuttle-based storage and retrieval systems
Logistics and Intralogistics SystemsThis paper presents an analytical model for multi-deep shuttle-based storage and retrieval systems (SBS/RS). The storage depth is no longer limited to two (as in previous models), any storage depth can be parameterized. The model is based on probabilistic considerations. The model is validated via simulation. The model can be used for the storage management policy random storage assignment as well as for class-based-storage in tier-captive and tier-to-tier shuttle-based storage and retrieval systems (SBS/RS). The model can also be adapted for other systems.
