Development of a dedicated test rig to investigate the characteristics of belt driven diverter wheels used for sorting technology in intralogistics
Logistics and Intralogistics SystemsThe Institute of Logistics Engineering at the Graz University of Technology has done extensive research into the optimization of intralogistic material flow systems. Typical areas of investigation include material handling, loading and unloading systems, as well as storage systems.
The proposed paper presents the development and implementation of a dedicated test rig designed to determine the characteristics of various pairings of diverter wheels and round belt drives used in intralogistic sorters. The paper further discusses the requirements and the design of the test rig as well as the measurement technology and methods used. In addition, exemplary results of measurements are presented. These results provide reliable contributions to the evaluation of different components and/or module designs with regard to permissible strain limits, wear and durability necessary for productive us.
