The processes of reception, treatment, storage and expedition of units in the warehouse are complex processes. The inflow and outflow are not constants, for a period of time can have many request arrives or not, some of them can remain for storing for a long period of time, others can be dispatched by customers.
To be explored, analyzed and optimized the warehouse processes in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry can not be used analytical methods, because they aren’t sufficiently reliable and the results will not be accurate. For these applications is appropriate the application of mathematical methods such as theory of queues and computer simulation programs.
The aim of this report is the exploration and optimization of the material flows in two companies, representatives of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry of the Republic Bulgaria with the help of the theory of queues. The study used data provided by the ,,Sopharma’’ AD and ,,Aroma'' AD.
